2 Day First Aid Requalification - Up to 12 People
When booking this course you must provide evidence that you currently hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate. This will also need to be shown to the trainer on the first day of the
course.
The practical elements of this course are essential as they provide you with vital hands-on experience. It is important that you are physically able to take part in the practical parts of the course.
The HSE requires you to attend the full duration of the course to be eligible for evaluation and qualify for an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.
- Duration: Two days
- Group Size: 12 spaces available
The course covers the following topics:
- Role of a first aider
- Use of equipment
- Importance of recording incidents and actions
- Basic hygiene and preventing cross infection
- The priorities of first aid
- Assessing and managing incidents
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
- Shock
- Wounds and bleeding
- Minor injuries including small cuts, grazes, bruises and small splinters
- Dressings including bandaging and slings
- Head, chest and eye injuries
- Fractures and muscular injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Choking
- Asphyxia
- Seizures / Epilepsy
- Diabetes
- Asthma
- Poisons
- Anaphylactic shock
- Heart conditions including heart attack, angina and stroke
A re-qualification course can be done up to 3 months before the certificate expiry date and if completed then the new certificate would start from the expiry date of the last.
