Configurable Content Tilte | FAQs |
Configurable Content | 1. What makes the Powerheart G5 different from other defibs? The Powerheart G5 stands out for a few big reasons. First, it’s the only defibrillator that offers real-time CPR feedback through its iCPR pads. This means it actually tells you if your chest compressions are deep enough and fast enough, which is a big help in a stressful moment. It’s also semi-automatic, so the device tells you when to press the shock button (you’re never guessing), and it’s tough enough to be used in almost any setting, from schools and offices to outdoor sports facilities. 2. Is it easy to use if no one is trained?Yes! It’s designed to guide anyone through a rescue. Once you open the lid and turn it on, the G5 gives clear voice and visual prompts, telling you where to place the pads, when to press the shock button, and how to perform CPR. We do recommend AED and CPR training courses, even though they’re not required. A short session helps people feel more confident, and better prepared to help in an emergency. 3. What is iCPR, and why is it useful?iCPR stands for Intelligent CPR. The special pads that come with the G5 give live feedback on your chest compressions, telling you if you need to press harder or faster. This is especially useful if no trained responder is nearby, or if people are nervous. If you're buying a defib for a workplace or sports club, having CPR feedback can help ensure you're doing CPR as effectively as possible. Exlpore the NHS guide to CPR 4. What does “semi-automatic” mean?A semi-automatic defibrillator like the G5 will analyse the person’s heart and decide if a shock is needed. If it is, the device tells you to press the shock button. You’re still guided through everything, it won’t let you shock someone if it’s not required. If you'd prefer a version that gives the shock automatically without pressing anything, we also stock fully automatic defibrillators. 5. Can this defib be used on children?Yes. The G5 can treat both adults and children. Just connect the paediatric electrode pads if you're helping someone under 8 years old or under 25kg. The device will automatically adjust the shock level to suit a child. 6. How do I know the G5 is working and ready to use?The Powerheart G5 performs self-checks daily, and has a clear indicator light to show if it's ready. If there's an issue , like a low battery or expired pads, it will alert you with both a visual warning and sound. Register your defib here for free service and maintenance reminders. 7. How long do the battery and pads last? The Intellisense battery in the G5 has a shelf life of up to 4 years, and is designed to deliver around 290 shocks. The pads typically last 2 years, or until used. The iCPR pads include the feedback sensor, so you'll want to replace them with the correct version. 8. Can we install this defibrillator outside?Yes, the G5 is rugged and built for tough environments, but if you’re placing it outdoors or in a public space, we recommend storing it in a weatherproof defib cabinet. This protects it from temperature extremes and tampering.
